Rooms at Our
Homestay in Dehradun

Three rooms, three ways to stay. Each is shaped by the view it opens onto — small by design, generous in light, quiet as the Himalayas.

Sinola, Malsi · Dehradun

Three rooms, eight guests,
one quiet valley

Shivoham Retreat is a small, family-run homestay in Dehradun with three rooms and a maximum of eight guests at any one time. All three sit on the same property in Sinola, Malsi, 500 metres from Robber's Cave and about 10 km from the Dehradun Clock Tower, which puts the city within easy reach while leaving the noise behind.

Every room has air conditioning, high-speed Wi-Fi, a queen or twin bed made up with fresh linen, and access to the permaculture garden. Daily breakfast is included in every rate, along with welcome chai on arrival and complimentary herb tea through the day. Guests who need to cook for themselves have the run of a fully equipped kitchen, which is why families looking for a homestay in Dehradun with kitchen tend to choose us over a hotel room.

Rates below are per room per night. Check-in is from 12:00 and check-out is by 11:00, with early check-in offered when the room is free. We take bookings directly by enquiry rather than instant confirmation, so every stay is arranged by someone who actually lives here.

Luxury Valley Facing Room

A cosy mountain-facing room with a private balcony opening onto the valley — built for couples who want calm, comfort, and the slow drama of a Himalayan sunrise.

The balcony is the reason people book this room. It faces east over the valley, so the sunrise arrives before the rest of the house is awake, and it is wide enough for two chairs and a pot of chai. Inside there is a queen bed, air conditioning for the summer months, a work-friendly desk corner, and an en-suite bathroom with hot water around the clock. The room is on the quieter side of the property, away from the shared sitting area.

Best for couples, solo travellers, and anyone who wants the sunrise without leaving bed.

Harmony House

A private two-room house within the property, with its own front door, a shared sitting space and direct garden access. For families and friends of up to four who want the house and its laughter all to themselves.

A self-contained two-bedroom house within the property, with its own front door, a shared sitting space between the two bedrooms, and direct access to the garden. Both bedrooms are made up for two, so four adults sleep comfortably without anyone taking a sofa. It is the only stay here with a private living area, which makes it the practical choice when a family wants to eat late, talk loudly, or put children to bed at different times.

Best for families and groups of up to four who want their own space within the property.

Luxury Studio Room

A spacious, modern studio room held together by warm lighting and peaceful surroundings — perfect for a serene Himalayan stay, with every contemporary comfort within arm's reach.

An open-plan studio with a queen bed, a seating corner, and contemporary interiors kept deliberately uncluttered. It is the largest of the two double rooms and the easiest to settle into for a longer stay, with air conditioning, fast Wi-Fi, generous storage, and an en-suite bathroom. Guests staying a week or more usually end up here, and it pairs naturally with kitchen access for self-catering.

Best for longer stays, remote work, and guests who want room to spread out.

Questions guests ask about our rooms

Is there a homestay in Dehradun with a kitchen?

Yes. Shivoham Retreat has a fully equipped kitchen that guests are welcome to use, which suits longer stays, families travelling with children, and anyone with specific dietary needs. It is one of the main reasons guests choose a homestay in Dehradun over a hotel room.

What is included in the room rate?

Every rate includes daily breakfast for all guests, welcome chai on arrival, complimentary herb tea, high-speed Wi-Fi, air conditioning, garden and property access, and local area guidance. Rates are quoted per room per night.

How many guests can stay at Shivoham Retreat?

Eight at most, across three rooms. The Luxury Valley Facing Room and Luxury Studio Room each sleep two, and Harmony House sleeps four. We keep the number deliberately small so hospitality stays personal.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is from 12:00 and check-out is by 11:00. Early check-in is offered when the room is free, so it is worth asking when you enquire.

How far are the rooms from Dehradun city centre?

About 10 km from the Dehradun Clock Tower, and 500 metres from Robber's Cave. The Forest Research Institute is 9 km away and Mussoorie is roughly 26 km, which makes the property a practical base for sightseeing.

Do you serve vegetarian food?

Yes, exclusively. Meals are sattvic and vegetarian, using produce from our own permaculture garden and farms within 20 km.
