By booking a stay, attending a yoga programme, sending an enquiry, or using the shivohamretreat.com website you accept these terms. Please read them carefully. They form a legal contract between you (the "Guest") and Shivoham Retreat (the "Property"), operating from Kuthal Wali, Jodhi, Jakhan Jodi Road, Malsi, Sinola, Dehradun, Uttarakhand 248003.
1. Bookings & confirmation
A booking is confirmed only after we send a written confirmation (email or WhatsApp) following receipt of the booking advance. Enquiries submitted through the website are not bookings — they are requests for availability. We respond to enquiries within 24 hours.
2. Payment
- Advance: 30% of the total tariff is required to confirm any booking.
- Balance: payable at check-in by UPI, cash, credit card or bank transfer.
- Yoga Teacher Training (TTC): 25% advance to confirm a seat, balance 30 days before the programme start date.
- Currency: all prices are in Indian Rupees (₹). International cards are accepted; foreign-exchange charges by the issuing bank are the guest's responsibility.
- GST: applicable taxes are added per Government of India rates.
3. Check-in & check-out
- Check-in: 12:00 noon. Early check-in subject to availability.
- Check-out: 11:00 AM. Late check-out (up to 3 hours) at 25% of the daily tariff; beyond 3 hours, a full extra night is chargeable.
- Valid government-issued photo ID (Aadhaar, passport or driving licence) is mandatory at check-in for every adult guest, per Indian hospitality regulations.
- Foreign nationals must additionally present passport & visa for Form-C submission to FRRO.
4. Cancellations
See the full cancellation policy. Summary:
- 14+ days before check-in: full refund minus 5% processing.
- 7–13 days before check-in: 50% refund.
- 0–6 days before check-in or no-show: no refund.
- TTC cancellations: 60+ days = 90% refund, 30–59 days = 50%, <30 days = no refund.
5. House rules
- Quiet hours: 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM. The retreat is a sanctuary for yoga practitioners and families; please respect other guests.
- Smoking: strictly prohibited inside rooms and indoor common areas. Designated outdoor area available.
- Alcohol: the property is a sattvic (vegetarian, alcohol-free) environment. Outside alcohol is not permitted on premises.
- Pets: not allowed.
- Visitors: only registered guests may stay overnight. Day visitors are welcome between 10:00 AM and 8:00 PM with prior notice.
- Footwear: please remove footwear before entering the yoga shala and prayer rooms.
- Photography: please ask before photographing staff or other guests. Drone photography requires prior written permission.
6. Food
All meals are vegetarian, mostly sattvic, and many ingredients come from our permaculture garden. Allergies and dietary restrictions (vegan, gluten-free, Jain, low-salt) can be accommodated with 24-hour notice. Outside food is discouraged but allowed in private rooms.
7. Liability
- Guests participate in yoga, hikes and outdoor activities at their own risk. We recommend consulting a physician before strenuous practice, particularly if you have heart, back, knee or pregnancy concerns.
- Personal belongings are the guest's responsibility. We offer a locker on request but do not insure valuables.
- We are not liable for delays or cancellations caused by events outside our control (force majeure: landslides, road closures, government orders, weather, strikes, pandemics).
- Our maximum liability for any claim is limited to the total tariff paid for the disputed booking.
8. Damage
Wilful damage to property, fixtures or furnishings will be charged at replacement cost plus 15% handling. We reserve the right to ask any guest causing disturbance or damage to leave without refund.
9. Children
Children of all ages are welcome. Children under 5 stay free when sharing a bed with parents. Children 5–12 are charged 50% of the adult tariff for additional bedding. Parents are responsible for supervising children at all times, particularly near the garden, balconies and outdoor areas.
10. Intellectual property
All content on this website — text, images, logos, video — is the property of Shivoham Retreat or used under licence. You may share links to our pages freely. Reproduction or commercial use requires written permission.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The Consumer Protection Act 2019 protections remain available where applicable.
